Many lenses today are made from modern materials such as silicone hydrogels that bring more oxygen to your eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daily disposable lenses<\/b>

Daily lenses<\/span><\/a> as the name suggests are worn for one day. You remove them and throw them away at night. Using a new pair of soft lenses every day means less risk of infection, less cleaning and more comfort.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lenses <\/b>bi-monthly<\/b><\/h4>\n

These lenses can be worn daily for 15 days and then replaced with a new pair. However, you must clean and disinfect them daily and store them overnight. Your optician will recommend the best<\/span> cleaning products<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monthly lenses<\/b>
<\/span><\/h4>\n

Monthly<\/a> lenses are worn daily, cleaned and stored overnight for one month, then discarded.<\/p>\n

Extended wear lenses<\/b><\/h4>\n

This type of soft contact lens is made from silicone hydrogel and can be worn for up to 30 days without interruption, even while sleeping.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rigid contact lenses
<\/b><\/h3>\n

Rigid lenses<\/span><\/a>also known as <\/span>gas permeable lenses<\/span>are made of hard plastic. They provide sharp, clear vision and correct most <\/span>visual disorders<\/span>. They are more durable than soft contact lenses. They are also more breathable, which provides more oxygen to the cornea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike soft lenses, the diameter of these lenses is much smaller and covers less of the eye.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is important to remove, clean and disinfect these lenses at night, but some can be worn for a week or even 30 days.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fitting to rigid lenses <\/span>gas permeable lenses<\/span> may take a few days or up to a few weeks. However, if your prescription does not change and you take good care of your lenses, you can use the same pair for two to three years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hybrid contact lenses

Hybrid contact lenses are the latest and most advanced option. A hybrid lens has a rigid central zone <\/span>gas permeable<\/span> surrounded by a soft skirt, offering the clear, crisp vision of a hard lens and the all-day comfort of a soft lens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hybrid contact lenses are easy to clean and disinfect, do not dehydrate, are easier to use and last longer than soft lenses. They <\/span>can be used to correct<\/span> myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and age-related loss of near vision, as well as irregular corneal curvature (keratoconus).<\/span><\/p>\n

Colored contact lenses

Colored contact lenses<\/span><\/a> allow you to change your eye color and get the look you want. These lenses are available in two forms:<\/span><\/p>\n

Colored contact lenses on prescription<\/b><\/h4>\n

Cosmetic contact lenses<\/b><\/h4>\n
